Clapton, E5
The Stables, Clapton Photographing this garden was a real pleasure. It was designed by Wilder Landscapes in collaboration with the house’s architects, Sanchez Benton. The space has a quiet richness to it — mature trees, a converted stable yard next door, and a restored WWII Anderson shelter, now repurposed as a garden shed. These historical elements ground the space with texture and depth. Stableyard cobbles and a binding gravel path connect the two seating areas. The fencing, made from reclaimed corrugated tin, echoes the bomb shelter and picks up the same rusty tones found in the planting.
