Church Barn, Essex
Church Barn is an award-winning garden in Braintree, Essex, designed by landscape architect Stefano Marinaz. It was completed in 2020 and the 700-square-meter garden surrounds an 18th-century black timber-clad barn conversion.
I love this project so much and have seen so many images of it in magazine and online so to be commissioned by Stefano to photograph it was fantastic and the best way for me to kick of 2026. It was bloody freezing and extremely cold January morning but starting to shoot just before dawn you get a real sense of that coldness and as you filter down the images the sun comes out to deliver little pockets of light.
